LNS GT NAIL characteristics:
The LNS GT NAIL from Surgival, also known as a trochanteric nail, is an intramedullary nail system designed to treat fractures of the proximal third of the femur in a logical, convenient and effective manner.
Specifications
- All the components are fully made with high mechanical resistance Stainless Steel (ISO 5832-1).
- Three lengths: SHORT NAIL (150 mm), STANDARD NAIL (170 mm) and LONG NAIL (300 – 480 mm)
- Two cervico-diaphyseal angles : 125º and 130º
- 3.5º medial-lateral angle that allows the surgeon to insert the nail easily and efficiently, minimising potential interference due to larger medial-lateral angles.
- Longitudinal grooves that provide enhanced elasticity and minimise the “tip effect”
- Distal groove with two locking options: static or dynamic
- Proximal markings for radiographic reference (5 and 10 mm) to indicate the nail insertion depth
The LNS GT NAIL system from Surgival features the following components:
LNS GT SHORT, STANDARD AND LONG NAIL
LNS GT SHORT NAIL AND LNS-GT STANDARD NAIL from Surgival:
The 150 mm (SHORT) and 170 mm (STANDARD) lengths reduce interference with the internal cortical screws and minimise the “tip effect”.
oth the SHORT and STANDARD NAILS are available in 4 options:
- 10 mm distal diameter and 125º CDA
- 10 mm distal diameter and 130º CDA
- 11 mm distal diameter and 125º CDA
- 11 mm distal diameter and 130º CDA
LNS GT LONG NAIL from Surgival:
The LNS GT LONG nail has the same design criteria but incorporates a 13º anteversion angle, an anterior-posterior curvature radius of 140 cm and various lengths from 300 to 480 mm (with increments of 20 mm)
The result is 40 available variations, IN ADDITION TO AN ANATOMICAL VERSION (in total 80 variations):
- 10 mm distal diameter and 125º CDA, length from 300 mm to 480 mm (right and left)
- 10 mm distal diameter and 130º CDA , length from 300 mm to 480 mm (right and left)
- 11 mm distal diameter and 125º CDA , length from 300 mm to 480 mm (right and left)
- 11 mm distal diameter and 130º CDA , length from 300 mm to 480 mm (right and left)
PROXIMAL SCREW for LNS-GT NAIL
The proximal screw is designed to prevent rotation of the head and neck over the metaphysis. Like the compression screw, the head shape makes it possible to eliminate the “cut-in” effect. Features a cannulated section for Ø 2.5 mm k-wires. All these characteristics provide excellent mechanical strength.
Available lengths: from 50 to 100 mm (with increments of 5 mm)
COMPRESSION SCREW for LNS GT NAIL
The compression screw, with a Ø 9 mm diameter , is one of the smallest on the market. It was designed to offer excellent mechanical strength. The head shape enables screw migration control and eliminates the “cut in” effect. Features a cannulated section for Ø 3.2 mm needles.
Available lengths: from 70 to 120 mm (with increments of 5 mm)
DISTAL SCREW for LNS GT NAIL:
The distal screw is designed with a threaded head and tip, leaving the central shaft of the screw solid to improve fatigue strength. This screw is called 4S due to its features (Solid, Smooth, Strength, Shaft). It can be fixed in a static or dynamic position.
It is available in 2 diameters, with lengths varying from 25 to 50 mm (in increments of 5 mm).
